Description: The IQ HOME programme develops technological solutions, which inter-connectivity forms an “Intelligent home of the new generation designed on smart appliances and wood”.
Such home is built from natural human-friendly materials – particularly wood, what also signifies a new paradigm in the area of adapting to humans with a non-invasive artificial intelligence. In the programme framework new solutions in the design of the entire home are foreseen.
Activities: The program consists of three main pillars; Advanced buildings with wood chain, Intelligent devices and Intelligent home management.
The main guide of the entire IQ HOME programme is sustainability, renewability, health, comfort, economy and safety. The end result and effect of the programme is a new generation of buildings based on an intelligent use of wood, artificial intelligence and advanced appliances, which triggers a crucial leap forward from an automated home to a self-learning home adapted to humans.
Among results of the programme is also a comprehensive solution of an Energy Management System (EMS) that focuses on the management and optimisation, and will at the same time be dynamically embedded in the energy consumption strategy of the wider environment (building, network, community, town, region), with which it interacts constantly. On the basis of results of harnessing the natural potential of wood and integrating new materials using nano materials and WPC into construction-connectable habitat systems, it will be possible to achieve greater mechanical resilience and energy consumption efficiency of buildings and homes.
TECES is participating in two research and development projects, the “Advanced systems and products for energy management in intelligent buildings and homes (TRL 3-6)” and Demonstrator of a predictively regulated heat pump of next generation (TRL 5-6)”.

Description: Basic aim of the Competence Center Programme "KC-SURE Advanced Systems of Efficient Electricity Use" is to achieve comprehensive examination of active networks problematic, from power generation to its distribution and consumption, to establish the concept of active networks, which will allow verification of solutions on the parts of the Slovenian electricity network in order to confirm the suitability of newly developed partner’s products for inclusion to active electricity networks of the future. Accurate evaluation of newly developed concepts in real environment will allow the participating industrial partners testing and final specification of developed solutions.
Activities:
  • Project RR1: Active Power Network Solutions: project with emphasis on the smart grid solutions, development of concepts and algorithms for the efficient energy use, based on the measures of automatic controlling within the conceptual connection of active grids and smart homes.
  • Project RR2: (Power Network Components) : project with emphasis on the development of power network components,
  • Project RR3: Smart, Energy Efficient Domestic Appliances and Systems: project with the emphasis on the development of adaptive, energetically effective appliances in domestic appliances systems and
  • Project RR4: Energy Efficient Electric Drives: : project with the emphasis on efficient engine converters, advanced electro engines and electronic systems for the management of advanced electric engines for domestic and industrial use.

MicroSOL-LIFT Micro-inverter for solar panels

Description: The project MicroSol-LIFT merges research and development activities and competences of the companies LETRIKA d.d. in ISKRAEMECO d.d., UM-FERI and TECES towards the development of a new, on the marked yet not existing and fully smart grid compatible integral solution, which encompasses
  • the development of a new micro-inverter concept for solar panels with higher efficiency, galvanic isolation and small dimensions, and
  • the development and implementation of low-voltage distribution network control system, which determines reference values for reactive and active power generation, based on measurements with smart meters and by considering available micro-inverter resources.

Description: The main research goal of the proposed project is to develop a general highly efficient advanced sensorless system for control of permanent magnet machines over extremely broad range of speeds, where high efficiency blowers for fuel cells and central air conditioning systems and drives for micro gas turbines are the target applications.
The developed sensorless control systems must assure highly efficient and reliable operation starting from any unknown initial system state and speed, through the zero speed and up to the speeds of several 10.000 revolutions per minute.

Description: The main research goal of the proposed project is to develop a general highly efficient advanced system of bi-directional multi-phase DC-DC converter for hybrid vehicle.
In the scope of the proposed project an appropriate highly efficient digital control algorithm for bi-directional muti-phase DC-DC converter will be developed together with the up to date control system board based on the FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array).
