A New Multi-Disc Three-Phase Axial Flux Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator with Coreless (Ironless) Stator
13. februar 2008
TECES has developed a new energy high-efficient MULTI-DISC Three-Phase Axial Flux Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator with a coreless (ironless) stator – MDAFPM (for more information about these machines click here).
The multi-disc three-phase generator (4kW, 3000rpm) with high specific power and coreless stator is characterized by the following advantageous features:
- high efficiency; no rotor copper losses due to the permanent-magnet excitation and no stator eddy current losses in the ironless stator,
- small weight (plastic or epoxy resin stator core),
- disc shaped construction, having a short rotor in axial direction,
- no cogging torque,
- low noise and less vibration.
Main applications:
- small electrical generators driven by gasoline or diesel engines,
- small wind generators,
- electric vehicle drive machines - as motor and generator.
Application of MDAFPM synchronous generators offers an alternative solution in the sphere of electrical generators or electrical machines in general. Their disc-shaped construction and advantageous electromechanical characteristics represent the main features in alternative electrical energy production and in high efficient electric drive systems.
TECES has made the next significant step in the research and development field of new concepts of electrical machines. The new developed multi-disc three-phase generator has placed the guidelines in a field of research of axial-flux electrical machines at TECES, especially in the area of alternative drives for electric vehicles.
