Microchip Technology and TECES Implement Joint Project

Efforts made in 2007 to explore possibilities for collaboration between TECES and USA-based MICROCHIP TECHNOLOGY Inc. (NASDAQ: MCHP), a leading provider of microcontroller and analog semiconductors, came into effect in the companies’ first joint development project, which was started in January 2008.
The joint project is for a reference design based on the 16-bit dsPIC® Digital Signal Controller (DSC) platform, which Microchip expects to offer to its customers across the EU, Asia and the United States.
“Having TECES as a Microchip Design Partner means that customers with all levels of sophistication will be better able to realize the benefits of Microchip’s world-class products,” said Sumit Mitra, vice president of Microchip’s Digital Signal Controller Division. “Customers want to know that their design partner has knowledge of and experience with the specific requirements of Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) and motor-control applications.”
Involvement in project activities aimed at developing hardware and software includes experts from Microchip’s Digital Signal Controller Division from the United States, India, Italy and Austria which will join TECES staff in Maribor in the final stages of the project.
The simultaneous work of Microchip’s and TECES’ respective development staffs represents a solid basis for more specific familiarization with, and use of, Microchip's new products and solutions in the field of power converters and electric motor-drive control in dedicated applications developed by TECES for its clients.
Of course, TECES’ newly-gained experience and know-how is expected to ensure that the most technically and economically optimal solution is selected in the development of dedicated applications for the end-client.
