An outstanding recognition attributed to Maribor's researchers from UM FERI and TECES
28. maj 2008, Maribor
On the »Thirteenth Biennial IEEE Conference on Electromagnetic Field Computation CEFC 2008«, which is one of the most important events from the field of electromagnetic field computation in 2008, researchers from UM FERI (University of Maribor, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science) and TECES (Research and Development centre for electric machines) have received outstanding recognition.
World leading professionals have attributed one of the best poster paper awards to Maribor's researchers from UM FERI and TECES for the paper »Identification of Line-Start Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Parameters Using Differential Evolution«, which was composed by the authors Tine Marčič, Gorazd Štumberger, Bojan Štumberger, Miralem Hadžiselimović in Peter Virtič.
The authors Tine Marčič and Peter Virtič are junior researchers employed in TECES, who are concluding their post-graduate study at UM FERI. The authors Prof. Dr. Gorazd Štumberger, Assist. Prof. Dr. Bojan Štumberger, and Assist. Prof. Dr. Miralem Hadžiselimović, are active in pedagogical and research activities of UM FERI and research activities of TECES. The authors successfully cooperate in joint research projects and project activities. Consequently, they care about the exchange of theoretical and practical knowledge between UM FERI, TECES and the Slovenian industry of electro motors.
As presented in the awarded paper, the authors have shown how it is possible to join theoretical and practical knowledge from the field of design, control and modeling of electric machines, optimization methods and experimental methods in order to solve complex problems in a relatively simple way.
