TECES report from Info day Horizon 2020 - Challenge "Safe, Clean and Efficient Energy"

TECES was with a aim of obtaining direct information on the formation of international consortia present at Info day of the Horizon 2020 Programme, a work program 2016-17 - Challenge "Safe, clean and efficient energy" and related brokerage event (B2B) for energy technology. Both events take place between 14th and 16th of September 2015 in Brussels.
The Info day was attended by over 1000 people. They were equally represented from members of governmental and research organizations, small and medium-sized enterprises, advisory and other organizations. The central key theme and also the theme of the presentations was improvement of the coordination of all involved stakeholders. This is also reflected in the updated content of the Energy draft work program 2015-2016 and related tenders.
Through research in the field of energy in the H2020 the EU wishes:
- rethink solutions on how to convert and use energy,
- establish user / prosumer in the center of the energy system,
- include the entire value chain in the processes of innovation and investment,
- to be able to mobilize all available resources in the EU to ensure sustained economic growth.
The brokerage event was attended by over 300 people who performed more than 1,200 B2B meetings. The meetings were devoted to potential partners and applicants in the H2020 Energy calls. The scope of calls cover the activity field of TECES and its members and allows absorption of development funds within the framework of international consortia.
TECES has met with representatives of organizations from Great Britain, Poland, Spain, Belgium, Denmark and Italy. Organizations were coming from the ranks of engineering, energy companies, and technical consultancies, clusters of public institutions (municipalities) and clusters from the food industry.
The joint opportunities for TECES and partners have emerged in form of the layouts on the demonstration of technologies, complementary partnerships for the implementation of complex applications, chances to connect within the Smart Specialisation Strategies domains. • The total indicative budget for the work program 2016-17 challenge "Safe, clean and efficient energy 'amounts to 1.34 billion euros, with more than half of the intended call for a competitive low-carbon energy (LCE calls).
