Slovenian Competence Centers are Connecting for Business Internationalization within the 1st Slovenian - Hungarian Innovation Forum

Click for larger picture (95,0 KB) Competence Center SURE on Advanced Systems of Efficient Use of Electrical Energy has supported the implementation of the 1st Slovenian-Hungarian Innovation Forum, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Slovenia, Agency SPIRIT, the Slovenian Embassy in Budapest and the Hungarian Innovation Office (NIH) in Budapest on 29.05.2013.

The purpose of the forum was to exchange national policies and government measures to support innovation environment. Matej Gajzer, director of TECES and Competence Centre SURE programme responsible person, explained the role and importance of the competence centers instrument in order to create high-tech products and services with high added value on the priority areas of technological development in Slovenia. Instrument of competence centers therefore grows not only as integrator of industrial research, supported by the public research sector, towards an integrated innovation mechanism with developed supportive environment to partner networks for the internationalisation of business.

In opening word, the participants were addressed by Dr. Laszlo Korányi, vice president of the National Innovation Office Hungary (NIH), with the importance of smart specialization and the need for its implementation. Slovenian Ambassador in Hungary, Darja Bavdaž Kuret, stressed out the importance of bilateral scientific and technological cooperation and broader aspects of economic relations between the two neighboring countries.

Representative of the Hungarian Agency for Investment and Trade, Director of Business Development (HITA) g. Robert Bodocs, also stressed the importance of smart specialization strategy as the activity of strategic positioning of all economies in European countries.

Boštjan Skalar, The Director of SPIRIT, introduced the national policy of the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology on the innovation field and its Agency (ARRS) ran by. Mag. Peter Volasko, Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, gave a detailed presentation Slovenian Research and Innovation Strategy for the following years 2011-2020.

The second part of the Forum was intended for discussions between representatives of the Slovenian and Hungarian companies and institutions. In this part, the CC-SURE presented partner organizations to the participants and continued to establish contacts to further support the internationalization efforts of partner networks.
